Sheriffs’ Reports 05-27-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against six individuals.

A Weems man, 67, was charged May 18 with contempt of court: disobeying process.

A White Stone man, 38, was charged May 19 with trespassing after having been forbidden to do so, intentionally damaging property valued at less than $1,000, and allowing a dog to run at large.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged May 19 with two counts of assault and battery of a family member and intentionally damaging property valued at less than $1,000.

A Kilmarnock man, 58, was charged May 19 with driving while intoxicated, second offense within 10 years with a BAC over .25%, operating a motor vehicle during the time the accused was deprived the right to do so, disregarding the signal to stop by law enforcement, reckless driving, and improper/erratic lane change.

A Lancaster man, 23, was charged May 20 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

A Farnham woman, 22, was charged May 22 with driving while intoxicated, first offense.

Activity report

May 17: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a civil issue, to the 700 block of Nugent Lane for trespassing and threats made to harm another, to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, and to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred in the 1100 block of Johns Neck Road.

May 18: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for a domestic assault involving weapons, to the 100 block of Old Mill Cove Road for the burning of hazardous materials, to the 1000 block of Griffins Landing Road for a possible suicidal person, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for child abuse/neglect, to Hatton Avenue and Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

May 19: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a disorderly person with mental issues, to the 100 block of Steamboat Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Skye Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disqualified and intoxicated driver headed into White Stone from Middlesex County, to the Norris Bridge for threats to commit suicide, to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for a wanted person out of Gloucester County, and to the 100 block of Otter Cove Lane for a sudden death.

May 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 500 block of Slabtown Road for the theft of a flag, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a person with mental issues, to the 4300 block of Irvington Road for a vehicle parked partially in the roadway, to the 1600 block of Harris Road for a possible burglary, to the 2200 block of River Road for gunshots in the evening hours, to Campbell Road for gunshots in the evening hours, and to the 4900 block of Irvington Road for a suspicious person.

May 21: Staff responded to the 200 block of Chases Cove Lane for the larceny of items from a boat, to the 100 block of Primary School Circle for the theft of traffic cones, to the 200 block of Pond Park Road for credit card fraud, to the 16000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive to assist emergency medical services with an unresponsive person.

May 22: Staff responded to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a neighbor, to the 11000 block of River Road for gunshots in the area, and to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a person with mental issues.

May 23: Staff responded to the 900 block of Black Stump Road for a noise violation from loud music, to the 16400 block of Mary Ball Road for a person with an altered mental status and suicidal, to Riverside Drive and Morattico Road for golf carts on the highway, to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for reckless driving, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of River Bluff Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for gunshots, responded to the courthouse area of Mary Ball Road for a possible intoxicated driver, and to the 200 block of James Lane to check the welfare of a resident.

Staff also conducted 22 traffic stops, issued 25 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 13 E911 hang-up calls and fielded two requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Bailey Lane and to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a brush fire at Bluff Point and Jarvis Point roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Demar Antonio Davenport, 31, of Heathsville was charged May 17 with a capias to show cause for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Circuit Court.

Brian David Geronimo, no age given, was charged May 20 with a Northumberland County felony warrant for selling/distributing a Schedule I or II drug, third subsequent offense. He was served the warrant by the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Larry Allan Headley Jr., 44, of Reedville was charged May 21 with abduction, assault of a family member, third-plus offense and preventing help by destroying a telephone belonging to the victim.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged May 19 with brandishing a firearm.

A Callao man, 47, was charged May 20 with being drunk in public.
