Sheriffs’ Reports 08-27-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Alec Bladen Vanlandingham, 27, of Callao was charged August 24 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of possession of controlled substance.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 46, was charged August 18 with assault and battery a family or household member.

A Weems woman, 22, was charged August 18 with reckless driving by driving a vehicle that was not under proper control on a highway.

A Phillipsburg, Pa. man, 41, was charged August 21 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated; refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, and reckless driving by speed.

Activity report

August 17: Staff responded to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a vehicle pursuit.

August 18: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 70 block of Seafood Lane for an assault.

August 19: Staff responded to the 200 block of Daniel Drive for trespassing, to the 300 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a neighbor dispute, to the 13000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity.

August 20: Staff responded to the 30 block of Berrywood Lane for a domestic disturbance, and to the 5000 block of White Chapel Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

August 21: Staff responded to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for financial exploitation, and to the 50 block of Rappahannock Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

August 22: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for fraud, and to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for harassment.

August 23: Staff responded to the 2400 block of Morattico Road for a downed tree, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a stabbing, to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for trespassing, and to Taylors Creek Road and Larkspur Lane for a downed tree across utility lines.

Staff also conducted 15 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted four motorists, handled three requests for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a utility line fire on Oyster Point and a traffic crash on Rappahannock Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Bluff Point Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on White Chapel Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 37 individuals.

Felonies

Jalynn Dashaw Santos, 21, of Warsaw was charged July 17 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of carnal knowledge with a child without force.

Raymond Bernard Acree Ill, 38, of Heathsville was charged July 22 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for four counts of selling/distributing a controlled substance, namely a Schedule I/II drug. He was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Bailey Marie Gough, 23, of Reedville was charged July 27 on a capias/direct indictment issued by the Lancaster County Circuit Court for felony abuse of a child and disregard of life. She was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

Derrick Donta Smith, 25, of Heathsville was charged July 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two felony counts of distributing/selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug.

Eddie Lee Gallagher, 52, of Mechanicsville man was charged July 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for driving while intoxicated after prior related felony conviction.

Wendy Mollene Jones, 26, of Montross was charged July 28 with felony malicious bodily injury. She was served by Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

Nicholas Chase Thompson, 28, of Heathsville was charged July 29 on a capias issued by the Richmond County Circuit Court for violating probation on a felony offense.

Sharon Yvette Bailey, 59, of Callao was charged July 29 with strangulation, causing injuries or wounds. She also was charged with assault and battery of a family member, preventing help/obstruction of communication through wireless and petit larceny. These were Westmoreland County Charges, served by NCSO.

Hugo Vargas-Medina, 34, of Callao was charged August 2 with strangulation causing another wounding or injury. He also was charged with assault and battery of a family member.

Veronica Lynn Tityk, 53, of Fayetteville, N.C., was charged August 3 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for grand larceny. She was served by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.

Bradley Patrick Townshend, 32, of Warsaw was charged August 4 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for possession of two counts of child pornography and two counts of copying or selling child pornography.

Nicole Rebecca Marsh, 47, of Farnham was charged August 4 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for destruction of property over $1,000.

Richard Lee Mellott, 66, of Broadway was charged August 5 on a capias issued by Rockingham County Circuit Court for violating probation on a felony charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug.

Erica Monea Cook, 36, of Callao was charged August 6 with abuse and neglect of a child with reckless regard for life.

Misty Lynn Stokes, 40, of Heathsville was charged August 14 with grand larceny.

Sherry Lynn Barrett, 57, of Heathsville was charged August 23 with unauthorized use of a vehicle, grand larceny and possession of a Schedule I/II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Burgess man, 51, was charged July 18 with assault and battery.

A Callao man, 28, was charged July 22 with assault and battery of a family member. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged July 22 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville man, 31, was charged July 24 with operating without a contractor’s license.

A Heathsville woman, 25, was charged July 24 on a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in court, on an original charge of assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville man, 66, was charged July 25 with assault and battery.

A Kinsale man, 84, was charged July 29 with four counts of shoplifting. These were Northumberland County warrants served by WCSO.

A Callao man, 40, was charged August 6 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lottsburg man, 63, was charged August 7 with criminal trespassing and dumping trash.

A Tappahannock woman, 18, was charged August 7 with assault and battery of a family member. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Tappahannock Police Department.

A Reedville man, 75, was charged August 8 with assault and battery of a family member. The warrant was issued by Prince William County Police Department and served by the NCSO.

A Burgess man, 28, was charged August 10 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville man, 32, was charged August 11 with reckless handling of a firearm.

A Callao man, 42, was charged August 11 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao woman, 18, was charged August 12 with assault and battery.

A Callao man, 20, was charged August 12 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville woman, 57, was charged August 13 with petit larceny.

A Farnham man, 45, was charged August 20 on capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear. This was a Northumberland County warrant, served by the Virginia State Police.

A Heathsville man, 49, was charged August 21 with violating a protective order.

A Coles Point man, 38, was charged August 21 with driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Callao man, 27, was charged August 23 on a summons for a dangerous dog.
