Sheriffs ‘ Reports 10-06-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 23, was charged September 27 contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Burgess man, 35, was charged September 28 with two counts of contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 25, was charged September 29 with failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged September 29 with an alcohol safety program violation.

A La Crosse woman, 42, was charged October 2 with assault and battery of a family member, disorderly conduct and appearing intoxicated in public.

Activity report

September 26: Staff responded to the 20900 block of Mary Ball Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 1900 block of Goodluck Road for a verbal disagreement, to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Weems Road for a noise violation, to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for a missing juvenile.

September 27: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible bomb/shooting threat, to the 1900 block of Goodluck Road for a juvenile behavior issue, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a trespasser.

September 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for vandalism.

September 29: Staff responded to the e 200 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with entry into a residence after receiving a medical alert, to the 1300 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident, to Weems and Christ Church roads for illegal dumping, and to the 100 block of Chestnut Point Road to assist a Virginia Marine Resources agent with an investigation.

September 30: Staff responded to the 200 block of Mantua Road for a trespasser and disorderly conduct, to the 700 block of Foxfield Lane for suspicious activity, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a minor traffic crash that occurred on the Norris Bridge, River and Morattico roads for a tree down in the roadway, to a transformer sparking at the 3700 block of Weems Road, to the 600 block of Johns Neck Road for a tree down in the roadway, and to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a disorderly person.

October 1: Staff responded to the 600 block of McSwain Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Clover Lane for a verbal disagreement involving alcohol, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for the report of a domestic assault with injuries.

October 2: Staff responded to the 100 block Reynolds Farm Road to assist EMS with an individual with seizures.

Staff also conducted 16 traffic stops, issued eight summonses, assisted a motorist, handled seven calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received seven E911 hang up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a request for assistance from Richmond County with a brush/field fire on Cana road.

Upper Lancaster, Kilmarnock and White Stone VFDs responded to a brush/woods fire on Shore Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Mercers Way.

White Stone VFD responded to a tree on a power line on Wharton Grove Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

John Harrison Coates, 45, of Kilmarnock was charged September 30 with a felony count of assault and battery, third-plus offense on a family member.

Daniel Hales Wingo, 33, of Lottsburg was charged October 1 with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer.

Misdemeanors

A Farnham woman, 52, was charged September 23 on a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear,

A Heathsville man, 29, was charged September 27 with assault and battery.

A Little Plymouth man, 34, was charged September 28 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to obey a court order.

A Callao man, 26, was charged October 2 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Prince William General District Court for failing to obey a court order consisting of non-compliance with terms of his pre-trial release
