Sheriffs’ Reports 10-21-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Antione Lamont Mills, 41, of Kilmarnock was charged October 11 with eluding/disregarding a signal to stop by law enforcement, fleeing from law enforcement, property damage valued at under $1,000, hit and run, property damage valued at over $1,000, failure to report property damage accident, and reckless driving.

Clinton Robert Chewning, 58, Weems, was charged October 17 with feloniously stabbing, cutting, wounding with malicious intent and two counts of probation violations on felony offenses.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 18, was charged October 11 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A White Stone woman, 47, was charged October 11 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 31, was charged October 12 with shoplifting/altering the price or concealing goods valued under $200.

A Lancaster woman, 64, was charged October 12 with seven counts of allowing livestock to roam at large.

A White Stone man, 49, was charged October 16 with assault.

Activity report

October 11: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a trespasser, to Tammy Drive for a suspicious person in a white pickup, to the 7600 block of Courthouse Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for a medical emergency, and to the 11000 block of River Road for the violation of a protective order.

October 12: Staff responded to the 2100 block of Iberis Road for the report of livestock (swine) in the roadway, to the 100 block of Bartlett Lane to check the welfare of a resident, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for an assault, and to the 200 block of River Road for a disabled vehicle blocking the roadway.

October 13: Staff responded to the 11100 block of Mary Ball Road for damage to a gated driveway, to Chestnut Grove Lane for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree, to the 8100 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Grand Villa Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 600 block of Kamps Mill Road for an attempted vandalism, and to a walk-in report of a protective order violation.

October 14: Staff responded to the 20400 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 11000 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Bells Creek Lane for a stolen kayak, to Merry Point and Richtown Roads for an abandoned vehicle, to Wilson Lane for gunshots and to Johns Neck Road and Gordon Drive for utility lines hanging down close to the roadway.

October 15: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Goodluck Road for the burglary and larceny of prescription drugs, to the 300 block of Pine Trail for a possible suicidal person, to the 400 block of Campbell Road for suspicious activity, to the 18300 block of Mary Ball Road for vandalism, and to the 100 block of Broadway for larceny of a kayak.

October 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Marina Road to check the welfare of a resident, to Irvington and King Carter roads for a panhandler, to the 2500 block of Windmill Point Road for an intoxicated driver, to the 5300 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 200 block of East Church Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a trespasser.

October 17: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for a tree down in the roadway, to the 2200 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 1600 block of Corrotoman Drive for a sexual assault, to the 100 block of Johnson Road for the larceny of wooden benches from a dock, to the 2700 block of Weems Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 1400 block of Avis Trail for a domestic dispute.

Staff also conducted 16 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted three motorists, handled 14 calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received six E911 hang-up calls and fielded five requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont memorial Highway, a fire/smoke alarm on Norwood Street, a water rescue on Jarvis Point lane and with White Stone VFD to a structure fire on Irvington Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on park Place.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felony

Misty Lynn Stokes, 36, of Heathsville was charged October 16 with possession of a Scheduled I/II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 44, was charged October 5 with a capias to show cause for violating pretrial by leaving treatment against medical advice and for testing positive for drugs. This was a Northumberland warrant and was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Kilmarnock man, 55, was charged October 6 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville woman, 36, was charged October 7 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao man, 32, was charged October 13 with damaging property.

A Burgess man, 45, was charged with violating a protective order.

A Heathsville man, 39, was charged October 16 with violating a protective order.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged October 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving without a license. Two summons were issued for driving with an open container and crossing the double lines.
