Sheriffs’ Reports 10-27-22

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help to locate the owner of a 5 cubic foot chest freezer found in the roadway near Mary Ball and Chases roads. The freezer, which appears to be new and still in its container, is believed to have been purchased from Lowes. The chest freezer was recovered and now is in possession of the Sheriff’s Office. Contact the Sheriff’s Office at 462-5111.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against a North Chesterfield man, 61, for violating the conditions of bail/bond pretrial release and failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense.

Activity report

October 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of James Point for the report of suspicious activity, to the 200 block of Plainfield Drive for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Shady Lane for illegal dumping, to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for a domestic assault, and to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road for a wanted person.

October 18: Staff responded to Shore Drive and Morattico Road for a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway, to the 600 block of Yopps Cove Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 2100 block of Morattico Road to check the welfare of a resident, to Harris and Irvington roads for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1100 block of Oak Hill Road for a possible burglary, and to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a hit and run vehicle crash.

October 19: Staff responded to Morattico Road to assist with the search of a boater in distress, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for threats made to harm another.

October 20: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for construction equipment in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for shooting in the area, and to the 700 block of Fleets Bay Road to assist with an investigation of an abandoned vehicle in Gloucester County.

October 21: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Mary Ball Road and Rappahannock Landing for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 3000 block of Lara Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 10400 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Carters Cove Drive for a child custody dispute, and Mary Ball Road and White Stone for a possible intoxicated driver.

October 22: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street for a hit and run vehicle crash, to the 1100 block of Irvington Road for illegal dumping, to the 13100 block of River Road for the theft of a compound bow and a Sig Sauer handgun, to the 3300 block of Windmill Point Road for trespassers, to the 100 block of Wharton Grove Lane to assist emergency medical services with lift assistance, to Corrotoman Drive and Pine Place for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Shady Lane to check the welfare of a resident.

October 23: Staff responded to the 2500 block of Irvington Road for a burglary to commit an assault.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 12 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled 11 calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged four inmate transports and received 17 E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a utility pole fire on Ottoman Ferry Road.

White Stone VFD responded to separate traffic crashes on Rappahannock Landing and Norris Bridge.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a controlled burn on Red Fox Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Amir Rasoul, 70, of Heathsville was charged October 17 with driving on a revoked license that was alcohol related, third offense.

George Anthony Pizzoia II, 36, of Manassas was charged October 19 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with the terms of his probation. He was arrested by the Manassas County Police Department.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville man, 62, was charged October 17 with violating a protective order.

A Callao woman, 30, was charged October 18 with petit larceny.

A Callao woman, 48, was charged October 18 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Callao man, 66, was charged October 22 with assault and battery of a family or household member.
