Sheriffs’ Reports 10-31-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Shakeem Donta Walker, 24, of Weems was charged October 21 with selling/providing Schedule I or II drugs for resale by others and contempt of court, failure to appear.

Joshua Tyler Williams, 23, of Cobbs Creek was charged October 23 with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of committing a larceny with the intent to sell such property.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 20, was charged October 24 with destruction of property valued at under $1000.

A Lancaster man, 22, was charged October 24 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Lancaster man, 47, was charged October 24 with violating probation, not complying with conditions.

A Gloucester woman, 35, was charged October 25 with violating probation.

Activity report

October 21: Staff responded to 146 Virginia Road for possible power lines down, to North Main Street for a stolen wallet, to Beach Road for a suspicious person, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for panhandling and loitering, and to the 100 block of Harris Road for a combative mental patient.

October 22: Staff responded to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Lankford Place for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 1000 block of Pinckardsville Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash striking a tree.

October 23: Staff responded to the 5400 block of Irvington Road for fraud/obtaining money by false pretenses, to the 200 block of Farriers Road for a missing person, to Mary Ball and Regina Roads for a three-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, and to the 100 block of Greenfield Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a gunshot victim with the suspect still on the scene.

October 24: Staff responded to the 5800 block of Rivers Landing Terrace for a verbal disagreement.

October 25: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Ocran roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to North Main Street for a hit and run traffic crash.

October 26: Staff responded to a walk-in report of child abuse, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a hit and run traffic crash, and to Senior Creek Place for a suspicious vehicle.

October 27: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Light Street to assist NCSO with shots fired into a dwelling, and to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for a trespasser.

Staff also conducted 15 traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received four E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate fire/smoke alarms on King Carter Drive and Greentown Road, as well as a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Ocran roads.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to separate traffic crashes on Pinckardsville Road and Mary Ball and Regina roads.

EMS calls

For October 20-26, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 41 calls, including 28 medical emergencies, four injuries, three traffic accidents and six other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felony

Cintez C. Gibson, 33, of Petersburg was charged October 21 with a capias to show cause issued by Hanover County General District Court for failing to comply with pre-trial conditions.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville woman, 34, was charged October 21 with assault and battery of a family member. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Warsaw woman, 54, was charged October 23 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating pre-trial services, by testing positive for drugs. She was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Reedville man, 18, was charged October 23 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville woman, 69, was charged October 23 with disorderly conduct.

A Lancaster County man, 47, was charged October 24 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to pay restitution.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged October 27 with attempting to defect a drug screening test by using a substitute sample. This was a Richmond County warrant served by the NCSO.
