Sheriffs’ Reports 11-09-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Kayla Maryah Veney, 21, of Lancaster was charged October 30 with two counts of forging and uttering.

Katherine Alexandra Turner, 35, of White Stone, was charged November 1 with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer; as well as misdemeanors, two counts of obstructing justice-resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and destruction of property.

Reginald Marvella Smith, 41, of Lancaster was charged October 31 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanor

An Irvington man, 49, was charged November 1 with destruction of property and stalking.

Activity report

October 31: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, to the 8000 block of River Road for a welfare check, to the 600 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for suspicious activity, to the 200 block of Old Fair Grounds Way for a verbal disagreement, and to the 1800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a custody dispute.

November 1: Staff responded to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for the report of an attempt to locate York County Sheriff’s Office, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for a scam, and to the 3000 block of Weems Road for suspicious activity.

November 2: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Lively Oaks roads for a vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Courtney Road for an adult-welfare check, to the 300 block of Cow Shed Road for an adult-welfare check, to Mary Ball and River roads for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a neighbor dispute, and to the 1 block of Our Way Drive for stalking.

November 3: Staff responded to the 70 block of Windmill Point Road for property damage, to the 100 block of White Pine Drive for check theft and forgery, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for a vehicle striking a commercial building, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a verbal disagreement.

November 4: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, and to the 600 block of North Main Street for suspicious activity.

November 5: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, to the 3000 block of Irvington Road for larceny, to the 300 block of Callis Road for legal advice, to River and Old Airport roads for debris in the highway, and  to Old Orchard Road for an abandoned-unattended vehicle.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, recorded six deer strike accidents, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received four E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 458 Harris Road.

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle traffic crash at Mary Ball and Lively Oaks roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Tammy Lynn Morgan, 58, of Heathsville was charged October 31 with abuse/neglect of a child.

Benjamin Albert Schlosser, 57, of Heathsville was charged October 31 with  abuse/neglect of a child.

Myshaun Tihee Porter, 24, of Burgess was charged November 3 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of distribution for profit a Schedule I/II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Burgess man, 24, was charged November 3 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

A Heathsville man, 34, was charged November 3 with 10 counts of violating his protective orders.
