Sheriffs’ Reports 12-05-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against 11 individuals.

Felonies

Darwin Lamar Jackson, 46, of Alexandria was charged November 26 with malicious assault causing injury by acid/explosive/fire.

Jalin Nathaniel Powell, 18, of Reedville was charged December 1 with malicious wounding.

Misdemeanors

A Warsaw man, 39, was charged November 25 with failure to appear to answer interrogatories.

A Lancaster woman, 34, was charged November 25 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Weems man, 58, was charged November 25 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lancaster man, 46, was charged November 26 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Lancaster woman, 26, was charged November 26 with two counts of hit and run property damage and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

A Kilmarnock woman, 19, was charged November 30 with assault and battery of a family member and entering property to cause damage.

A Lancaster woman, 19, was charged November 30 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged December 1 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Kilmarnock man, 19, was charged December 1 with appearing intoxicated in public.

Activity Report

November 25: Staff responded to the 600 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Second Avenue for the report of possible suicidal person with access to weapons, to the 700 block of Baywater Drive for a verbal dispute over a civil issue, and to the 2500 block of Irvington Road for a domestic assault.

November 26: Staff responded to the 100 block of Church Street to assist KPD with a disorderly person, to Alphonso Road for a large tree branch in the highway, to a walk-in report of a disorderly person that occurred at the 100 block of School Street, to Chinn’s Mill on Mary Ball Road for a hit and run traffic crash involving three vehicles, and to the 1900 block of White Chapel Road for suspicious activity.

November 27: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for the report of a two-vehicle traffic crash, one of which was a motorcycle, and to the 1800 block of Davis Mill Road for a child custody dispute.

November 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Levelfields Lane for the illegal dumping of trash, and to the 2900 block of White Chapel Road for a traffic crash: vehicle versus a utility pole.

November 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Pinckardsville Road for suspicious activity, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a hit and run traffic crash, to the 700 block of Corrotoman Circle to assist KPD with shots fired in the area, to the 100 block of North Main Street for a fight in progress, and to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a burglary and grand larceny.

November 30: Staff responded to the 400 block of Campbell Road for a domestic disturbance and child custody issues, to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for threats made to harm another, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress, and to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a malicious wounding from the use of a knife.

December 1: Staff responded to the 2500 block of Morattico Road for a domestic assault with alcohol involved, to the 500 block of Weems Road for an assault, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for a domestic assault and threats to harm another with alcohol involved, to the 200 block of Old Fairground Way to assist KPD with a fight in progress involving relatives, and to the 1000 block of Laurel Point Road for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled three calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received eight E911 hang-up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Rappahannock Drive and with the Kilmarnock VFD to a possible woods fire on Sunset Drive.

The Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Irvington Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on White Chapel Road and to a 911 hangup call on River Road.

EMS calls

For the week of November24-30, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 36 calls, including 15 medical emergencies, six injuries, four traffic accidents, a fire and two other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 16 individuals.

Felonies

Cynthia Rena Bunns, 56, of Reedville was charged November 30 with shoplifting, third-plus offense from the Food Lion in Heathsville.

Jalin Nathaniel Powell, 18, of Reedville was charged December 1 with malicious wounding. This was a warrant from Lancaster County and served by Northumberland County.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 29, was charged November 19 with petit larceny, second offense.

A Reedville man, 43, was charged November 19 with nine counts of violating a protective order.

A Burgess man, 36, was charged November 22 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with his pre-trial services. He was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Burgess woman, 29, was charged November 22 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to comply with the community based probation program.

An Alexandria man, 38, was charged November 22 with failing to appear in the Alexandria General District Court.

A Heathsville man, 38, was charged November 25 for failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court.

A Heathsville man, 51, was charged November 25 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating his pre-trial services by testing positive for drugs and alcohol.

A Heathsville woman, 23, was charged November 25 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating her pre-trial services by testing positive for drugs and alcohol.

A Heathsville man (no age given) was charged November 25 with issuing a bad check to Tri-Star in Kilmarnock.

An Annandale man, 37, was charged November 28 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear for his arraignment on original charges on driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. He was arrested by the Fairfax County Police Department.

A Callao man, 27, was charged November 28 with driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense in five years. He also was charged with damaging a public building and assault and battery of a family member. A summons also was issued for refusal of the breath test.

A Burgess man, 19, was charged November 28 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court to have his bail revoked due to a positive drug screening.

A Burgess woman, 61, was charged November 30 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear.

A Reedville man, 43, was charged December 1 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to obey a court order by being on peace and good behavior.

Fire calls

For the week of November 25-December 2, the Callao VFD responded to four calls, including three fire alarms and a medical call.

The Fairfields VFD responded to two fire alarms.

EMS calls

For the the same week, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 23 calls, including 14 medical calls, seven trauma/fall calls and two standbys.
