Sheriffs’ Reports 12-07-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felony

Dorian Dwayne Howard, 37, of 609 Valley Drive, Callao, was charged December 2 with five counts of utter or attempt to employ as a true check, knowingly such document to be forged.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 51, was charged November 29 with failure to appear in the Albemarle General District Court for the underlying charge of reckless driving by speed, and failure to appear in the Goochland General District Court for the underlying charge of driving while intoxicated.

A Lancaster man, 34, was charged November 30 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving a motor vehicle on a highway without having obtained a driver’s license, two counts of obstructing justice-resisting arrest, refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, and disorderly conduct.

A Richmond man, 24, was charged December 2 with driving a motor vehicle on a highway while license is suspended or revoked, and driving a motor vehicle at a speed of 72 miles per hour, in excess of the applicable 55 miles per hour.

A Lancaster man, 52, was charged December 2 with failure to appear in Lancaster General District Court for the underlying charge of shooting in or across a road or street.

Activity report

November 28: Staff responded to Merry Point and Richtown roads for a bicycle crash, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order.

November 29: Staff responded to the 400 block of Greentown Road for a child welfare check, to the 300 block of Earl Drive for suspicious activity, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for destruction of property, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 2000 block of Iberis Road for larceny, and to the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue for suspicious activity.

November 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fairway Drive for an adult welfare check, to the 100 block of Tilden Lane for a verbal disagreement, and to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a disabled vehicle.

December 1: Staff responded to the 600 block of Blueberry Point Road for a missing person (subject was safely located), to the 9000 block of Courthouse Road for a hit and run involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian, to the 2000 block of Mosquito Point Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 40 block of Marina Road for trespassing.

December 2: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road and Rappahannock Drive for a fuel spill, to the 400 block of Kelley Neck Road for trespassing, to the 16000 block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, and to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a reckless driver.

December 3: Staff responded to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road to assist emergency medical services with a medical emergency.

December 4: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted 16 traffic stops, issued six summonses, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged an inmate transport, received 10 E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 39 William B. Graham Court.

The White Stone VFD responded to a fire alarm at 106 Golf Course Drive and to a control burn at 398 Pine Trail.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Brandon Lee Kupper, 38, of Reading, Pa., was charged December 2 on an extradition warrant for failing to comply with probation and parole requirements in Pennsylvania. 

Craig James Bailey, no age given, of Saluda was charged December 3 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to complete the conditions of his release on the original charges of possession of a Schedule 1 drug, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving suspended. He was arrested by the Warsaw Police Department.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 23, was charged November 21 with assault and battery of a family member. 

A Reedville man, 66, was charged November 22 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on an original charge of driving suspended. 

A Callao woman, 54, was charged November 28 with assault and battery, and interfering with another’s property rights. She also was charged with trespassing after being forbidden to do so. 

A Callao man, 53, was charged November 28 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so. 

A Rockville woman, 30, was charged November 28 with assault and battery of a family member. 

A Reedville man, 21, was charged November 29 with failing to appear in the Lancaster County General District Court for the original charges of driving suspended and leaving a scene of an accident. This warrant was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office. 

A Haynesville man, 21, was charged November 30 with damaging property. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
