Sheriff’s Reports 12-12-19

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will host “coffee with a cop” at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, at Front Porch Coffeehouse, 139 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.

Members of the public are urged to meet local law enforcement representatives. The event is sponsored by Commonwealth Senior Living at Kilmarnock.

The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office will host “coffee with a cop” at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 20, at Callao Coffee Cafe, 25 Sandy Street, Callao.

Members of the public are urged to meet local law enforcement representatives. The event is sponsored by Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Phillip Wesley Thomas Cundiff, 35, of Lancaster was charged December 6 with strangulation resulting in injury and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 50, was charged December 3 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.

A Weems woman, 44, was charged December 5 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Heathsville woman, 32, was charged December 6 with public intoxication.

A Richmond man, 44, was charged December 6 with probation violation on a felony offense.

A Kilmarnock man, 28, was charged December 6 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

Activity report 

December 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of King Carter Drive for vandalism, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for an overdose of narcotics, to the 500 block of Southport Lane to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a trespasser, to the 100 block of Heron Cove to investigate a death case, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 400 block of Campbell Road for disorderly conduct of several young females, and to a walk-in report of grand larceny, strangulation, abduction and assault of a family member.

December 3: Staff responded to the 9100 block of Mary Ball Road for child sexual abuse, to the 100 block of Jeffrey Avenue for vandalism of a mailbox, to the 1700 block of James Wharf Road for suspicious activity, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for an elderly pedestrian in the roadway.

December 4: Staff responded to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for an intoxicated and disorderly person.

December 5: Staff responded to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist with loitering.

December 6: Staff responded to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol, to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 900 block of Peirces Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

December 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Bald Eagle Drive for a trespasser and larceny, to the 700 block of Nugent Lane for hunting violations, to the 400 block of Moran Creek Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol, to Rappahannock Drive for a minor traffic crash on Norris Bridge, to the 300 block of James B. Jones Memorial Highway for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Pond Park Road for a domestic disturbance.

December 8: Staff responded to Orchard Point for a boat possibly in distress, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for vandalism of vehicle, and to Goodluck Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received five E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Lancaster Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads, a request to assist EMS on Kelly Neck Road and a brush fire at Beanes and Courthouse roads.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on James B. Jones Memorial Highway.

Lancaster EMS calls

For the week of December 1-7, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 40 calls, including 26 medical emergencies, four injuries, three traffic accidents and seven other calls.

Northumberland Fire calls

For the week of December 2-9, the Callao VFD responded to five calls, including three alarms, a fire and a motor vehicle crash.

The Fairfields VFD responded to five calls, including two alarms, a field/brush fire, a vehicle fire and a motor vehicle crash.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the same week, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 23 calls, including 15 medical calls, seven trauma/fall calls and a public event.
