Sheriffs’ Reports 3-21-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

An Irvington man, 52, was charged March 11 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Weems man, 35, was charged March 12 with a suspended sentence violation.

A Weems woman, 66, was charged March 14 with an alcohol safety program violation.

A Kilmarnock woman, 20, was charged March 16 with assault and battery of a family member and trespassing.

Activity report

March 11: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in Lancaster for a reckless driver, to the 300 block of Johns Neck Road for a verbal disagreement, to South Main Street for larceny of fuel, to a walk-in report of a domestic assault, and to the 200 block of Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suicidal person.

March 12: Staff responded to a walk-in report of obtaining money by false pretenses, and to the 100 block of Virginia Road for trespassing.

March 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Norwood Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with threats made toward another which involved a firearm, and to Fox Hill Drive for a trespasser.

March 14: Staff responded to the 4300 block of Irvington Road to check the welfare of a dementia patient.

March 15: Staff responded to the 300 block of Old Orchard Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of West Bay Road for a dispute over damaged windshield.

March 16: Staff responded to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for an attempted suicide, to the 700 block of Newtown Road for a domestic disturbance, to Crawfords Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Shore Drive for an abandoned vehicle; to the 100 block of Otis Lane for juvenile misbehavior, to the 100 block of Brook Lane for a domestic disturbance, to the 700 block of Newtown Road for a trespasser and disorderly conduct, and to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a fight in progress.

March 17: Staff responded to River Road and Belmont Drive for a motorcyclist driving recklessly, to Lancaster Creek Drive for a four-wheeler on the highway, to the 600 block of Christ Church Road for a domestic assault, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident, to the 100 block of Comanche Lane to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a domestic assault and the offender fled from the scene.

Staff also conducted 15 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 14 calls for E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to brush fires on White Chapel Road, and on Bewdley Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Sandy Run Trail and with White Stone VFD to a kitchen fire on Irvington Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash at Rivers Landing and Mary Ball roads, to establish a landing zone on Chesapeake Drive, to a brush fire on Indiantown Road and to a trash fire on Johns Neck Road.

EMS calls

For March 3-9, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 62 calls for service, including 33 medical emergencies, nine injuries, two traffic accidents, two fire calls and 16 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Thomas Belfield Williams, 24, of Burgess was charged March 16 with a probation violation for violating the conditions of his release.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 54, was charged March 12 with stalking. This was a Richmond County warrant served by NCSO.

A Callao man, 57, was charged March 12 with assault and battery, being drunk in public and possession of marijuana, first offense.

A Heathsville man, 24, was charged March 17 under two separate capias/attachments of the body for violating pre-trial services.

Fire calls

For March 11-18, the Callao VFD responded to a field/woodss fire and two motor vehicle crashes.

The Fairfields VFD responded to a field/woods fire, a medical call and a motor vehicle crash.

EMS calls

For March 11-18, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 38 calls including 22 medical emergencies, 11 trauma/falls, three motor vehicle crashes and a mutual aid call.
