Sheriffs’ Reports 6-27-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Kevin Daniel Radford, 43, of Richmond was charged June 18 with grand larceny.

Daniel Patrick Kelly, 41, of White Stone was charged June 20 with rape.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 55, was charged June 17 with appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

A White Stone man, 39, was charged June 18 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged June 20 with revocation of pretrial release on a misdemeanor.

A Lancaster man, 24, was charged June 22 with assault and battery of a family member, destruction of private property, and damage to a phone/phone line to prevent summoning law enforcement.

Activity report

June 17: Staff responded to the 2200 block of Merry Point Road for several vehicles parked in the highway, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a disorderly and intoxicated person, to Chesapeake and Rappahannock Drive for a reckless driver, to the 200 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with a combative patient, to the 5700 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic disturbance, to the Best Western Hotel on Main Street to check the welfare of a juvenile after receiving a report of neglect, and to the 1300 block of Harris Road for a vehicle accident involving a utility pole on private property.

June 18: Staff responded to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of East Church Street to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic crash involving a pickup truck and a house.

June 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Alphonso Road for suspicious activity, to Lara Road for a downed tree blocking both lanes of traffic, to Old Orchard Road and Collinbrook Way for a loud vehicle stuck in mud; to the 100 block of Pembrook Lane to assist the U.S. Marshall’s Service with taking possession of a motor vessel, to the 6200 block of Windmill Point Road to check the welfare of the resident after receiving a report from a family member, to the 1500 block of Irvington Road for an assault involving alcohol, and to the 1600 block of Windmill Point Road for a sexual assault.

June 20: Staff responded to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for a single vehicle traffic crash; to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a fight in progress, and to the 100 block of Brent Court for a domestic disturbance.

June 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of Shoreline Drive to assist the U.S. Coast Guard with a boating accident, to Windmill Point Road for a reckless driver, to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for an abandoned vehicle partially in the highway, to the 800 block of Cherry Point Road for the report of a capsized boat in the Rappahannock River, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris on the roadway, and to Lara Road for an abandoned vehicle in the roadway.

June 22: Staff responded to the 100 block of Third Avenue to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Carlton Lane for the report of an unattended death, to the 4700 block of Windmill Point Road for a trespasser, to Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for a disabled vehicle in the roadway, to Merry Point and Richtown Road for an overturned pickup truck, to the 400 block of Old Orchard Road for a domestic assault, and to the 400 block of Christ Church Road for a suspicious vehicle.

June 23: Staff responded to the 300 block of Mosquito Point Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of King Carter Drive for a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a utility pole, to Main Street and James B. Jones Memorial Highway for a domestic assault, to the 1200 block of Beanes Road for a domestic assault, to the 16500 block of Mary Ball Road for a female lying on the ground believed to be intoxicated, and to the 300 block of Regina Road for a suspicious vehicle.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged six inmate transports, received five E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on North Main Street, a traffic crash on Church Street, fire/smoke alarm on School Street and a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.

White Stone VFD responded to a dumpster fire at Mary Ball and Chases roads, to a traffic crash on Rappahannock Drive, and to a traffic crash on King Carter Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Merry Point and Richtown Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For June 16-22, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 49 calls for service, including 32 medical emergencies, five injuries, five traffic accidents, two fires and five other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Reedville man, 56, was charged June 17 with substituting screening tests due to alcohol/drug testing.

A Callao man, 25, was charged June 18 with possession of marijuana, first offense. This was a Northumberland County warrant, served by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

A Callao woman, 35, was charged June 20 with reckless driving.

A Heathsville man, 44, was charged June 21 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear. He also was charged with a show cause summons for also failing to appear. These were Lancaster County warrants issued from the Lancaster Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and served by Northumberland County.
