Sheriffs’ Reports 8-08-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

George Walter Gaines, 62, of Lancaster was charged July 30 with driving after being declared a habitual offender.

Christopher Michael Carnes, 38, of Lancaster was charged August 1 with forging a public record, identity theft: obtaining an ID to avoid arrest; falsely identifying self to law enforcement, and petit larceny.

Shawna Lynn Pfarr, 37, of Weems was charged August 4 with four counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest by force.

Misdemeanors

A Weems woman, 28, was charged August 3 with assault.

A Lancaster woman, 42, was charged August 3 with assault and destruction of property.

Activity report

July 29: Staff responded to the 200 block of Gaines Road for a suspicious person, and to Dogwood Road for an abandoned vehicle.

July 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for a domestic disturbance.

July 31: Staff responded to the 300 block of Campbell Lane for threats made to harm another person, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a vehicle crashing into a building, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Beach Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 900 block of Merry Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to a walk-in report of obtaining money under false pretenses.

August 1: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a stolen vehicle, to the 10600 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to a walk-in report of a traffic crash on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge, to the 500 block of Carters Cove Drive for vandalism, and to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for an intoxicated and disorderly person.

August 2: Staff responded to the 200 block of Merry Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to a walk-in report of fraud-obtain money under false pretenses, to the 1800 block of White Chapel Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 700 block of Corrotoman Drive for a disorderly person, and to the 100 block of First Street for a trespasser.

August 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Richtown Road for a fight in progress, and to the 300 block of James B. Jones Memorial Highway for a domestic assault.

August 4: Staff responded to 200 North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Jones Drive for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

Staff also conducted three traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted eight motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated 10 building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received three E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic control request on Rappahannock Drive and with the Kilmarnock VFD to an excavator fire on Irvington Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD also responded to smoke in a building on Irvington Road, a fire/smoke alarm on School Street, a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and a vehicle fire on East Cove Lane.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle crash into a building on Mary Ball Road, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road and downed power lines on White Chapel Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

The Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 39 calls for service, including 20 medical emergencies, seven injuries, three traffic accidents, three fire calls and six other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Daniel James Banes, 37, of Blackstone was charged July 31 with a capias to show cause issued by the City of Richmond for violating terms and conditions of supervisory parole. The original charge was robbery. The capias was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO). He also was charged with a capias to cause issued by Chesterfield County for violating terms of supervisory parole. The original charge was distribution of oxycodone. The capias was served by NCSO.

David Edwards Banes Sr., 37, of Farnham was charged August 3 with abuse/child neglect and driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was issued a summons for defective equipment.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 58, was charged July 29 with trespassing.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged July 31 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Kilmarnock woman, 62, was charged August 1 with reckless driving.

Northumberland fire calls

For the week of July 29-August 5, the Callao VFD responded to three calls, including two alarms, and a medical call.

The Fairfields VFD responded to five calls, including an alarm, a motor vehicle crash, a brush fire and two medical calls.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the week of July 29-August 5, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 43 calls, including 26 medical calls, nine trauma/fall calls, a motor vehicle crash, four alarms, a mutual aid request and two standbys.
