Sheriffs’ Reports 9-12-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against 15 individuals.

Felonies

Trevell Maurice Saul, 35, of Lancaster was charged September 2 with entering in the nighttime a dwelling house with the intent to commit larceny, assault and battery; unauthorized use of a vehicle valued at over $500; two counts of assault and battery; and intentional destruction of property.

Samuel Herman Pewett III, 65, of White Stone was charged September 3 with four counts of embezzlement.

Phobe G. Gilbert, 32, of Kilmarnock was charged September 3 with three counts of grand larceny of a domestic animal, and entering a property for the purpose of damaging it or its contents.

Floyd Dee Roberts, 51, of Lancaster was charged September 6 with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 30, was charged September 2 with intentional destruction of property.

A Weems woman, 44, was charged September 2 with contempt of court, disobeying process/judgement.

A Kilmarnock man, 41, was charged September 3 as owner, with allowing an animal under his control to bite, injure, worry, chase or threaten the safety of a person; and allowing a dog to cause damage or annoyance on another person’s property.

An Irvington man, 54, was charged September 6 with violating a protective order.

A Weems woman, 36, was charged September 6 with contempt of court, disobey process/judgement.

A Lancaster woman, 56, was charged September 6 with violation and revocation of her pretrial release.

A Weems woman, 47, was charged September 7 with violation and revocation of her pretrial release.

A Lancaster man, 25, was charged September 7 with assault and battery, and trespassing after having been forbidden to do so.

A Lancaster man, 27, was charged September 8 with driving under the influence.

A Saluda man, 29, was charged September 8 with damaging a phone or phone line to prevent the summoning of law enforcement, and assault and battery of a family member.

A Lancaster woman, 26, was charged September 8 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report 

September 2: Staff responded to the 200 block of Lively Oaks Road for a possible prowler, to the 100 block of North Main Street for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Long Lane Court for a shooting in the area, to the 400 block of Chesapeake Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for vandalism of a vehicle.

September 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a fight in progress, to Devils Bottom Road for a reckless driver, and to Irvington Road for a reckless driver.

September 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a disorderly person, and to a walk-in report for the larceny of narcotics that occurred at the 100 block of Washington Street.

September 5: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a trespasser, to the 100 block of Ice House Drive for the report of child abuse, to the 1000 block of Old Salem Road for gun shots in the area, to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for the report of a sexual assault, to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a traffic crash involving an automobile and a bicyclist, to the 1700 block of Morattico Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 400 block of Scott Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Edgewood Lane for a domestic disturbance and a disorderly person.

September 6: Staff responded to Christ Church Road for a power pole down, to the 100 block of Edgewood Lane for violation of a protective order, to the 100 block of The Green for suspicious activity, to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic assault, and to the 7600 block of River Road for juvenile misbehavior.

September 7: Staff responded to the 7500 block of River Road for a possible prowler, to Weems and Irvington roads for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Beach Road for the larceny of a chain saw, to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist KPD with a suspicious person, and to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for a disorderly person.

September 8: Staff responded to Mount Olive Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a traffic stop reporting several individuals involved and possession of a firearm, to Mary Ball Road in Lively for a suspicious person, to the 5700 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for juvenile misbehavior, to the 100 block of Brent Court for a fight in progress, and to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for the larceny of a phone and purse.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted nine motorists, handled three calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received seven E911 hang-up calls and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Shamrock Court, a brush fire on Greenfields Lane, to establish a landing zone on Lloyd Lane, and with White Stone VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on Bluff Point Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a brush fire on Fleets Bay Road, a fire/smoke alarm on Blue Heron Lane, and a power pole down on Christ Church Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a possible brush fire on Keith Lane.

EMS calls

For September 1-7, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 40 calls, including 22 medical emergencies, four injuries, four traffic accidents, four fires and six other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 15 individuals.

Felonies

Jerome Curtis Jones, 60, of Hague was charged August 19 with three felony counts of selling/distributing a controlled substance.

Brian David Juhl, 39, of Kilmarnock was charged August 20 with felony malicious wounding and assault and battery of a family member. He also was charged August 26 with strangulation and preventing or delaying communications through a wireless device; these were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Kadene Roy Gordon, 21, of Heathsville was charged August 26 with forgery and uttering of a check. He was also charged with petit larceny, first offense. These were Essex County charges served by the Northumberland County Sheriffs Office (NCSO). He also was charged August 30 with forgery of a bank note and possession of less than ten forged bank notes with the intent to utter or employ the same.

Karl Noland Blackwell, 55, of Richmond was charged August 30 with two counts of failing to register from Henrico County and a capias/attachment of the body issued from Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Court for failing to pay child support. He was arrested on all charges by the NCSO.

Terrin Elizabeth Strickland, 27, of Heathsville was charged September 3 with felony abuse/child neglect. She also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and reckless driving.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 39, was charged August 23 with violation of a protective order.

A Heathsville man, 51, was charged August 23 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao man, 51, was charged August 24 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville man, 50, was charged August 27 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged August 30 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

A Heathsville woman, 28, was charged August 30 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

A Burgess woman, 61, was charged August 31 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao man, 60, was charged September 4 with petit larceny, first offense.

A Heathsville man, 25, was charged September 8 with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.
