Shirley’s book on Mary Ball Washington is a ‘people’s choice’ winner in the Library of Virginia Literary Awards

The Library of Virginia announced the winners of the 23rd annual Library of Virginia Literary Awards during a virtual ceremony Saturday, October 17.

Best-selling author and award-winning filmmaker Adriana Trigiani hosted the event, according to press releases. Featured speaker Douglas Brinkley was honored for his outstanding contributions to American history and literature as an award-winning, best-selling author and U.S. presidential historian.

New York Times bestselling presidential biographer and historian Craig Shirley won the “People’s Choice Award” in the nonfiction category for his book, Mary Ball Washington: The Untold Story of George Washington’s Mother.
