Skeletal remains found on the Rappahannock River shoreline near Windmill Point last week have been identified as missing boater Leroy Bussells, 68, of Woodbridge, according to Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie.
Bussells was reported missing December 23, 2018, when he failed to return from a fishing trip to the dock on Cockrell Creek in Reedville. The U.S. Coast Guard found Bussells’ 27-foot Grady White two days later unoccupied on Bloodsworth Island in Maryland. The fishing gear was still deployed and the autopilot still on, although the boat had no power.
