St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6807 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville will hold a celebration of Christmas at 4 p.m. December 18.
The church’s musical gift to the community features a septet of professional musicians who will lead a “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.” Seating will begin with an organ prelude at 3:30 p.m.
The service combines the reading of Bible passages interspersed with the singing of carols. The story begins with Adam’s expulsion from the garden of Eden, and then moves on to the promise of a Messiah, the birth of Jesus and culminates with the revelation of the mystery of the Incarnation.
