The Tavern Woodworkers Guild at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT) in Heathsville recently joined forces with Empty Bowls Virginia Peninsula to help fight hunger.
Held March 7 in Hampton, the fundraiser offered sample soups from several area restaurants. Every participant was able to select a handcrafted bowl as a memento and reminder of the needs of the food insecure, reported RHHT director Corinne Becker.
