Teta Kain to lead butterfly workshop

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists (NNVMN) will sponsor a free butterfly identification workshop from 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 16 at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

The speaker will be Virginia naturalist, photographer and butterfly expert Teta Kain of Gloucester.

The workshop is designed for people who would like to assist in the Northumberland-Lancaster Butterfly Count July 30, reported president Kevin Howe.

This inaugural count also is sponsored by the NNVMN and part of the annual North American Butterfly Association’s count that collects citizen science data from about 450 sites in North America, said Howe.
