‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ to open Friday

With months of rehearsals behind them, the The Lancaster Players cast of “The Play That Goes Wrong” is ready for the show’s opening on Friday, March 1, at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.

The play introduces The Cornley University Drama Society as it attempts to stage a 1920s murder mystery.  As the title suggests, things go wrong. Actors must contend with missing props, missing actors, missing cues and an imaginary sword fight as they valiantly battle chaos to bring the play to its final curtain call.

Even before rehearsals began back in December, director Mark Favazza had a word of caution for the cast: the actors must be comfortable with physical comedy. “Basically, this is a falling-down-laughing comedy, with nearly every character taking a fall of some sort….
