The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (NNMOAA) will present its annual Memorial Day Commemoration May 29 at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. and will continue with a formal observance at 11:30 a.m.
According to program coordinator, retired U.S. Army Col. William Johnson, the keynote speaker will be The Rev. John A. Weatherly, who has an extensive background of military and religious service. He retired with the rank of colonel from the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps, as Joint Forces Command Chaplain to the Virginia National Guard, having served for 13 years in that position.
