Lois Crane Williams, a 10-year resident of Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC) in Irvington, recently traveled to Massachusetts to receive the Bringer of Light award from the Star Island Corporation’s board of directors at its annual meeting.
The honor reflected her nearly 50 years of involvement every July with a Unitarian Universalist-based conference at Star Island, six miles off the coast of Portsmouth, N.H. It is awarded to an individual or couple with a record of exceptional service to the family-oriented island community.
She was acknowledged for her contributions to enlightening others about Star Island’s history. She wrote her first book….
