The TriWay Trail Board and the Lancaster board of supervisors recently announced the TriWay Trail public-private partnership has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the National Park Service (NPS) Chesapeake Gateways Grant Program.

The Chesapeake Gateways grant is a competitive funding opportunity that supports community organizations that enhance public access and promote economic development in the Chesapeake Bay Region. The NPS funds will be used for planning and engineering to identify the most effective and cost-efficient routes to extend the existing trail to Town Centre Park and Irvington Commons.
The TriWay Trail, a multimodal path being developed in three phases, will create a 10-mile trail connecting Kilmarnock, Irvington and White Stone. Phase I, mainly in Hills Quarters, is open from….
