With only seven subs on the sidelines and many of their starters banged up and bruised, the Red Devils suffered through a 72-7 defeat at the hands of district top dog Essex last Friday in varsity football.
“This is what you worry about happening, getting everybody injured before district [play starts],” said LHS coach Draper Washington.
Lancaster was held to less than 150 yards total offense Friday and gave up a couple of safeties and a defensive score to the Trojans, who seemed to move the ball and score at will.
Essex got scoring from six different rushers, including two 8-yard scoring runs by KJ Dameron to help give the visitors a 29-0 lead in the first 12 minutes.
