Essex put a damper on Lancaster High’s homecoming last Friday night.

The Trojans scored five times in the first quarter and went on to beat the Devils, 66-8.

Essex is 7-1 and unbeaten in the Northern Neck District at 3-0, while Lancaster is still searching for its first win of the season at 0-8.

The Red Devils have two more chances to pick up a win and will host Colonial Beach Friday, November 1, in last last home game of the season. Lancaster will end the season November 8 at Northumberland.

The two sidelines looked very uneven in last Friday’s match-up, with the Trojans able to make full-scale substitutions on offense and defense with a 43-man roster. The Devils, on the other hand, had four subs on the sidelines…
