REEDVILLE—With the words, “May she bring fair winds and good fortune to all who sail her” and a crack of champagne on the bow, it was official. Ocean Harvesters, the fishing partner to Omega Protein, took part in a long-standing tradition April 22 when they christened F/V Reedville and F/V Little River at the docks of Omega Protein in Reedville.
Ocean Harvesters chief executive officer Monty Deihl said the two new vessels represent “a continued investment” in the fleet. Deihl also acknowledged the hard work of Sebastian Stollenwerk, Stephen Sells and Meghan Peeples who led the year-long process of converting the off-shore supply vessels into “the safest, most modern menhaden fishing vessels….
