Sundays at Two

The Lancaster Community Library (LCL) Sundays at Two winter lecture series will continue February 5 with Bill and Carolyn Young, who served in Ukraine with the Peace Corps.

The lecture will begin at 2 p.m. at LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Talking workboats

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, 504 Main Street, Reedville will host a  Winter Lecture at 7 p.m. February 6. Dr. Paul Ewell of the Eastern Shore Watermen’s Museum and Research Center will discuss the evolution of the workboats of the Chesapeake Bay.

Charitable donations of at least $5 will be accepted at the door.

Super Bowl Chili

The Woman’s Club of White Stone (WCWS) will sell Super Bowl Chili for $15 per quart. Orders are now being accepted for drive-by pickup from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. February 11 at the WCWS Clubhouse, 560 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.

To place an order, call 435-0441. Leave a message stating name, number of quarts requested and contact information. The cutoff date is February 6.

Heart Healthy Take Out Meal

The Cooks Squad will offer heart-healthy vegetable soup, turkey chili, bread, cornbread and brownies for two for $14. Order at 494-9534 or mcvrssales911@gmail.com.

Orders are due by February 10 and can be picked up from 3:30-5 p.m. February 14 at the Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad, 7990 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

Concerts by the Bay

The Concerts by the Bay series will continue with Jeff Little on March 12 and Judy Carmichael on April 23. Both shows will begin at 3 p.m. at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium, Mathews High School, 9889 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews.

Chicken dinners

Chicken dinners will be available from 5-6:30 p.m. on first Mondays at American Legion Post #117, 39 School Street, Reedville.

Meals include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, choice of vegetables, salad, roll, dessert and drink. Dinners are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and younger, at the door.
