Lincoln scholar
Historic Christ Church & Museum, 420 Christchurch Road, Weems, will open its 2023 program series at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, with “Lincoln, the Founding and an America Worth Saving,” by Dr. Lucas Morel.
Tickets are $25 for the presentation and wine and cheese reception following Morel’s talk or $45 for the presentation, reception and a copy of Morel’s book, Lincoln and the American Founding. Tickets may be purchased at ChristChurch1735.org, at the office or at the door.
Student musical
St. Margaret’s School will present “The Wizard of Oz-Young Performers’ Edition” at 7 p.m. February 24 and 2 p.m. February 25, Ball Memorial Gymnasium, St. Margaret’s School, 444 South Water Lane, Tappahannock.
The free production will be open to the public.
Classic farce

Sundays at Two
The Lancaster Community Library (LCL) Sundays at Two winter lecture series will continue February 26 with Ed Burton, who will present a review of the Virginia economy, post pandemic.
The lecture will begin at 2 p.m. at LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
Online auction
The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society “Attic Treasures and Great Garage Finds” virtual estate sale will be held online March 22-29 at bigredauctions.hibid.com and anyone can bid.
Donations for the sale should be brought to 8346 Mary Ball Road in Lancaster from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays or Fridays through March 10.
Oyster roast
Smith Point Sea Rescue’s 27th Oyster Roast will be held from 2-5 p.m. March 4 at Cowart Seafood Corp., 755 Lake Landing Drive, Lottsburg. Tickets ($40) are available from Lilian Lumber Home Center, Jett’s Hardware, R.W. Sport Shop, all Sea Rescue members and at the door. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Chamber music
The Northern Neck Orchestra will present “Piano Trios,” a showcase of classical and contemporary chamber music for piano, violin and cello at 2 p.m. February 26 at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Goodluck Road, Kilmarnock. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased at the check-in desk or www.northernneckorchestra.org.
The program will include Arvo Pärt’s Mozart-Adagio, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Trio No. 1 Divertimento in B-flat, Claude Debussy’s Piano Trio in G-major and Paul Schoenfield’s Café Music.
