The Northern Neck Rotary Club will not meet on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Chicken dinners

Chicken dinners will be available from 5-6:30 p.m. on first Mondays at American Legion Post #117, 39 School Street, Reedville. However, the January dinner will be held January 8 because since the first Monday is New Year’s Day.

Meals include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, choice of vegetables, salad, roll, dessert and drink. Dinners are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and younger, at the door.

Gardening seminar

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners (NNMG) Association will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gardening in the Northern Neck Seminar (GNN) on April 13. The seminar will be held at Lancaster Elementary School, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

The theme will be “Creating Outdoor Spaces—Defining Your Lifestyle.” The seminar fee is $50. Lunches will be available for an additional fee. Registration forms will be available February 1 at www.nnmg.org.

On Stage

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2023-24 season will continue on February 10 with the Latin Ballet of Virginia performing “Alma Latina.” The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

Support groups

Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC) recently posted its free Parkinson’s Support Group schedules. The group meetings and related activities are open to the community and meet at the RWC Auditorium/Life Enrichment Center, 132 Lancaster Drive, Irvington.

The Parkinson’s Support Group meets at 1:15 p.m. on first Mondays; a Fit to Move exercise class meets at 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and a Care Partners Group meets at 11 a.m. on first Mondays.

Yoga retreat

Registration has begun for InsideOut Yoga’s (IOY) retreat in the Penedès Mountains near Barcelona, Spain, April 25-May 3 (Session 1) and May 4-12 (Session 2), 2024. “Peak Moments” will take place at Can Vital, a private, eco-friendly property nestled in the Penedès, a wine-growing region 90 minutes from Barcelona. 

The trip also will include two nights in Barcelona where participants will explore iconic landmarks as a group with plenty of time for individual exploration and relaxation. For registration, visit insideoutyoga/retreats-2.
