
Northern Neck Land Conservancy will hold a free Preservation of Farmlands, Woodlands and Wetlands information session for landowners who would like to learn more about conservation easements.
The gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 28 at the St. Margaret’s School Learning Center, 540 Water Lane, Tappahannock. Light snacks and refreshments provided by Riverland Insurers.
Land conservation serves the community by protecting farms, forests and other open spaces for our community for generations to come,” said president Stuart Ashton Jr. He lives on land that has been his family’s home since the 1800s. They placed it in a conservation easement in 2020.
Board members and staff will explain the conservation easement process, often used to protect woodlands, marshes, farmland, or other natural habitats or land. Local easement donors will discuss their experience with conservation easements and . . . .
