UUFR helps Kids First

The Kids First program at Middlesex Elementary School held a pasta supper for families on April 13 in the school cafeteria.

Parents, teachers and Kids First volunteers celebrated progress for the school’s five classrooms for pre-kindergarten children, for which volunteers help them learn about nutrition and provide healthy snacks, reported Katherine Cassidy.

Every adult attending the evening, both parents and teachers, received gift cards from a dozen area restaurants and food stores.

Starting 10 years ago, members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock in White Stone initiated and funded the early years of the Kids First programs for 3-year-olds in both Lancaster and Middlesex counties, said Cassidy.
