HEATHSVILLE—Virginia Clarkson Blake Blackwell, 92, of Heathsville passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
She was born on March 8, 1931, the daughter of Julian Wright Clarkson Blake and Viola Aydelotte Dize Blake.
She married Stuart Ashby Blackwell Jr. (deceased) in 1949 and they raised four children, Lucy Ellen Blackwell Baldwin (Newton deceased), Richard Clarkson Blackwell, Janice Lee Blackwell Bangit (John) and Juliana Dize Blackwell.
They made their home on the Blackwell family farm at Remo, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a devoted and loving mother to her four children, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful cook, and had worked in restaurants, but her favorite work which had never been work to her, was playing the piano for some of the churches in the area.
Services will be held at a later date.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
