Visiting Angels celebrates 13 years with new owners

Visiting Angels, one of the largest employers in the Northern Neck, is celebrating its 13th year in business.  Founded in 2008 by Frank McCarthy, the agency—now under new ownership—has continued its growth in the area with over 120 jobs filled in the community.

After conducting a nationwide search for an established home care agency in a rural waterside community, Jennifer and Steve Bowhey found their dream come true. “We wanted a community we could participate in and a good place to raise our daughters,” said Jennifer Bowhey.

They looked at the climate of the Northern Neck, which reminded them of their native Seattle suburb. “That area had 40,000 people, though—we definitely wanted something different at this point in our lives,” said Steve Bowhey.

Visiting last March was tricky—the pandemic was just breaking….
