Volunteers, donors, community partners fuel Bay Aging’s COVID-19 response

Bay Aging’s Helping Neighbors initiative supports nearly 700 seniors and those with underlying health conditions to safely stay in their homes throughout the coronavirus outbreak. Volunteers are delivering free hot meals in the Middle Peninsula on Mondays and Wednesdays and throughout the Northern Neck on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Last week, Steve and Michele Hutton were among volunteers who went to area restaurants and picked up hundreds of hot meals to deliver to seniors in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck.

The Huttons picked up dinners comprised of meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans from the The Galley in Deltaville. The Galley is one of 17 area restaurants partnering with Bay Aging in support of the Helping Neighbors initiative.
