Many dogs are extremely food oriented and really, I mean really, look forward to meal time. Unfortunately, this food obsession can lead to eating way too fast. Why do pups gobble up their food so quickly and why should you be concerned?
According to pupford.com, most dogs simply get so excited when they see their food that they can’t control themselves. Sometimes, dogs act instinctually, eating quickly before someone has a chance to steal the food away. Occasionally, dogs may have a nutritional deficiency that causes them to have intense hunger. In rare cases, their feeling of never getting enough food fast enough is rooted in a health condition.
Eating too fast is potentially harmful for your furry friend. It can result in choking, gagging, vomiting, indigestion, or bloating. The worst possible scenario would be Gastric Dilation-Volvulus, where the increased air taken in by fast eating causes . . . .
