Wednesday concert to offer three centuries of American folk music

The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) will host “American Traditions: A Sampler of Three Centuries of Historical Folk Songs, Ballads and Dance Tunes,” by Ampersand at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Lebanon Baptist Church, 20 Alfonso Road, Lancaster.

A $10 cash admission fee is requested at the door to benefit LVHS and offset event costs. Families are welcome and children will be admitted free with an adult.

Ampersand core members Beth Lawton and Dick Hogle plus Topher Lawton and Dave Moore perform American folk and historical music with vocal harmonies and a variety of traditional string instruments such as guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, cello and hammered dulcimer.
