REEDVILLE—On November 11, 2017, God called Wesley Miller at the age of 79 to his eternal home after a sudden illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Hassie Miller; his brothers, Charlie, Henry and Lee Roy Miller; and his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth Miller (Libby).
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon C. Fisher; his son, Ronald J. Custer; daughter, Joan M. Custer; brother, Dan Miller; and sisters, Betty Heizer, Shirley Heizer and Margaret Myrtle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loving friends.
Wes was born on March 3, 1938, in Middlebrook, Augusta County. As a young man, he served his country proudly and honorably as a U. S. Marine.
After his service, Wes enjoyed a wonderful life becoming a master craftsman in carpentry, painting and woodworking. He earned an impeccable reputation due to his honesty, dedication to perfection and love of his profession.
He had an amazing love of life and embraced nature fully, from traveling to enjoying flora and fauna and hunting and fishing. Wes was an avid bowler and dancer, loved God and his church and was very active in both the church and his community.
A celebration of Wes will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 26 with a viewing at 2 p.m. and services at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Roseland Cemetery and a dinner reception at the church.
