WHITE STONE—The White Stone Town Council on Thursday, June 30, quickly took care of some state- and federally-mandated business following a related public hearing.
Council voted unanimously, 6-0, to amend the town’s flood plain ordinance following the hearing. Council went in and out of the hearing in less than a minute. No members of the public attended the meeting.
William Hubbard made a motion to pass the 30-page document, allowing town manager Patrick Frere to make clerical edits as needed. Irving Brittingham seconded the motion. Brittingham, Hubbard, Ran Reeves, Charles Brocklebank, James Smith and Kathryn “Scotty” Roop voted in favor. Council member AnnGardner Eubank was absent.
