The White Stone Baptist Church mission group is reaching out to the Northern Neck community to collect cold weather outerwear—coats, gloves, scarves and hats—for the Afghan refugees who are staying at Fort Lee to complete their visa process for resettlement.
Fort Lee Chaplain Thomas Allen has indicated there is an urgent need for these items. Jackets and coats for men, women and children including toddlers and infants are a priority—all sizes up to large.
These can be delivered to the White Stone Baptist Church office, 517 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, or contact 435-1413 or wsbc11@verizon.net.
The coats and other outerwear can be either new or slightly used, said mission group….
