White Stone to again seek business district revitalization funding

WHITE STONE—The White Stone Town Council is hoping there’s some truth to the proverb “third time’s a charm.”

At its February 6 meeting, council held a public hearing to begin the process of applying for a business district revitalization Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). White Stone has applied but been denied twice for a similar grant.

“This is a very competitive program as you can imagine,” Jerry Davis told council.

Davis, executive director of the Northern Neck Planning District Commission, explained and answered questions about the CDBG application process for the council members who hadn’t gone through the process.
