
FARNHAM—William Carey Hall Sr., age 80, of Farnham passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. He was born on November 9, 1943, in Lodge to the late William Granville Hall and Ruth Elizabeth Dungan Hall.
William was the proud founder of W.C. Hall Trucking and worked for his company for 30 years until the business sold. He then worked as a plant and shipping manager at Carry On Trailers until retiring in 2009.
William was known for being a devoted and hardworking man. In his down time, he enjoyed fishing and being with his family. William loved his grandchildren more than anything.
William is survived by his sons, Carey Hall, James Hall (Michelle), Brian Hall (Jessica); his grandchildren, Emily Hall, Sara Hall, Anna Hall, Lindsey Hall, Kati Hall, Jay Hall, Hannah Hall, Gracie Hall, Addie Hall, Mary Hall, Lincoln Hall and Levon Hall; his great-grandchildren, Kinsley Pall and Waylon Hall; and his sisters, Ruth Hall Fisher and Kathy Hall Waughtel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Hall; his parents; and his son, Douglas Granville Hall.
A funeral service for William was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, at Welch Funeral Home – Marks Chapel with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. His family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, at Welch Funeral Home – Marks Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
