HEATHSVILLE—William Edwards “Bill” Ticer, 59, of Heathsville passed away on April 26, 2018, at his home with his sister by his side.

A Northumberland County native, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd and Jean Miller Ticer.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Erve Anthony of Tampa, Fla.

Bill traveled the world and enjoyed a 32-year career as a Merchant Marine. He was a retired chief engineer. His many hobbies included boating, camping, cars and racing. His greatest passion was his love of motorcycles.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the VCU Massey Cancer Center, Richmond, for their wonderful care. Also, a special thank you to our in-home Hospice team. Their kindness and compassion was so very appreciated.

Bill’s service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 5, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. The family will host a reception following the service. Burial will be private.
