WEEMS—William Grover Rose I was born unto the late Richard Arnold and Vivian Pearl Rose on July 8, 1946.
He was the youngest of their three sons and is survived by his two older brothers, Richard Rose II and Tommy Rose. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Wanda Marie Rose. He has three children, William Rose II (Juliann Hawk), Sabrina Roberts (Floyd Roberts), and Amanda Wilson (Adrian Wilson), and two stepchildren, Andy Fuentez (Jacqueline Fuentez) and Richard Penberthy (Amanda Penberthy). He has 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He served his country in the Army. He was a highly respected and hard working building contractor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, listening to Elvis songs, and trips to the Bahamas.
He succumbed to a lengthy battle with cancer on September 15, 2019.
Arrangements are as follows: Family will be accepting visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 19, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, and the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 20, at Wesley Presbyterian Church, 1272 Taylor’s Creek Road, Weems, VA 22576.
