Angelica Orscoa scored the only goal of the match last Tuesday to lift Washington & Lee past previously unbeaten Northumberland, 1-0, in varsity girls soccer in Montross.
The Lady Indians played to a 2-2 tie with Middlesex last Friday to stand at 8-1-2 overall.
Northumberland outshot the Lady Eagles, 22-12, with Cameron Lewis taking nine shots for NHS. Hannah Loving took six and Tahi Wiggins five. Wiggins also had five takeaways on defense and Alice Sisson four.
Whitney Wade took four shots and Courtney Garland three to lead host W&L’s offense.
