WKWI “family” members gather to share 50 years of broadcasting memories

On September 1, 1975, WKWI flipped the switch and began broadcasting in the Northern Neck.

What followed has been five decades of music, news and sports delivered by familiar voices that have become part of every day life in the Northern Neck.

On Saturday, November 15, members of the WKWI family—past and present—gathered at Lee’s Restaurant in Kilmarnock to share their favorite stories of the station’s beginnings and….
