The 11th annual Wicomico Parish Church Market Day will be held from 8 a.m.-noon October 6 at the church, 5191 Jessie Ball duPont Memorial Highway, Wicomico Church.
Market Day benefits the community, 100% of the proceeds are donated to various Northern Neck charitable organizations and shoppers can find bargains galore, reported chairman Ann Bedford.
The enormous yard sale will include furniture, homemade gourmet foods, toys and children’s items, books, linens, holiday decorations, affordable art, jewelry and miscellaneous household goods.
Also available will be designer hand knit items and Savor the Seasons of the Northern Neck, a collection of local entertainment options and recipes. A “dollar table” is also sure to be a hit, said Bedford. A men’s section will feature machine and hand tools as well as a variety of boating equipment. There also will be a silent auction.
Market Day vendors will include Garner’s Produce, Ditchley Cider Works, Northern Neck Native Plant Society with Sassafras Farms and the Northern Neck Popcorn Bag.
While on the church grounds, those interested in history may enjoy a guided tour of the church. Established in 1647, Wicomico Parish was the largest one in the commonwealth by 1771 and bears the touch of famous and dedicated Virginians, added Bedford.
