Arts in the Middle to feature over 100 artists, music, food

The third annual Arts in the Middle fine arts festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, on the grounds of historic Hewick Plantation on Old Virginia Street, Urbanna.

AIM is again drawing artists from all along the eastern seaboard. “That talent brings art lovers and festival fans from northern and western Virginia to see the creativity, hear quality music and taste local cuisine,” said chairman Celane Roden. “Our own area artists, professionals and students, also are part of the show, adding to the enjoyment.”

The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Signs will direct visitors to Hewick.

The music lineup on Saturday include:

• Large stage, 10:45 a.m., Spencer & Beane; 12:15 p.m., Something Different Duo; 1:45 p.m., Itchy Dog; and 3:15 p.m., Monument City Jazz Trio.

• Acoustic stage will be 10:30 a.m., Jeff and Sherry Wagner; noon, Clayton Neal; 1:30 p.m. Paige Melton; and 3 p.m., Clayton Neal with Jeff and Sherry Wagner.

The music lineup on Sunday will include:

• Large stage,11:30 a.m., Spencer & Beane; 12:45 p.m., The Meltones; and 2 p.m., Just Us Duo.

• Acoustic stage, 11:30 a.m., Amy Henderson; 12:45, Jeff and Sherry Wagner; and 2 p.m., Clayton Neal.

Food vendors include seafood, soups and wraps from Merroir restaurant in Topping; chocolates from de Rochonnet delights of Richmond; Steve Ringterini’s Smoothie Hut; and ice cream from Bethpage Camp-Resort’s ice creamery.

Wine, champagne and beer will be available for purchase.
