Backpack Buddies to serve LHS

Healthy Harvest Food Bank recently expanded the Backpack Buddy Program to Lancaster High School.

Recognizing the need to provide weekend meals to meet the nutritional needs of children most at risk for hunger, principal Butch Gross reached out to the food bank to find a solution. Through the generosity of a local foundation, funding was provided to serve 15 students at LHS for the remainder of the current school year.

Backpack Buddies, a weekend meals program for children who struggle with hunger, began in 2016 serving 60 children weekly at Lancaster Primary School and has since expanded to serve 80 children at LPS throughout the school year…
