Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern will hold a “Burn the Mortgage” barbecue fundraiser from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. October 6 on the Tavern Green, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.
Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance and $30 at the door. The menu will include pulled pork, chicken and sausage prepared by BBQ Master Sid Mace, plus potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, appetizers, desserts and soft drinks, reported manager Corinne Anthony Becker. Beer and wine will be sold separately.
