ICYCC holds Men’s Senior Club Championships

The Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club Men’s Senior Club Championships were held August 4 and 5. 

The men competed for gross and net prizes in three age divisions reported head professional Brenda Mayer, PGA.

Age divisions included 55 and older playing white tees, 70 and older playing white tees and 80 and older playing green tees.

Among gross results, senior champion Bob Gillispie shot 83 and 76; and runner up Gil Zimmerman, 82, 78.

Super senior champion Hap Hadd shot 87, 86; and runner up Dixon Whitworth, 87, 86.

Super super senior champion Jack Blunt shot 82, 81; and runner up Ken Sparks, 88, 94.

Among net results, senior champion Nelson Horsley shot 137; and runner up Steve Edmonds, 142.

Super senior champion Dixon Whitworth shot 141; runner up Gib Carson, 150.

Super super senior champion Turner Williamson shot 146.

Also of note, PGA assistant professional Josh Speight broke the course record on August 5, shooting 65 from the black tees at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club; 6630 yards, par 72, said Mayer.
